Holidays are coming fast and furious, from the recent Canadian Thanksgiving to the in-progress Diwali to upcoming Halloween, Dia De Los Muertos, and -- soon -- US Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year and yikes, I’m probably missing a few more!

Security can’t take a break but security professionals need to. So how are you prepping your systems and teams to take time off to breathe and enjoy holiday celebrations?

Our Support team put together a list of measures we recommend Delinea admins take to get their systems set up for success during the holiday season:

  • Make sure your products are on the most recent, supported versions of code. We know there are a few of you out there using outdated or even unsupported versions!
  • Consider putting a change freeze in place during the holiday season. Many of our customers do this for the entire month of December and we consider it a best practice.
  • Do you have a failover or backup plan in place? Have you tested it?
  • Review your certificates and license expiration dates to ensure there will not be unexpected lapses. If your contract ends during the holiday season, reach out now to let us know and we can get your renewal set up early so you’re not wrangling your procurement team away from a holiday dinner.
  • Subscribe to trust.delinea.com to stay advised of security updates and to status.delinea.com to stay apprised of any downtime or product issues.
  • Bookmark support.delinea.com and the contact info for Support (and encourage your team to do the same) so you can contact us quickly if the need arises. If you work with a partner, the same advice applies only with the partner’s info.

What are we missing? What best practices for staying secure while also enjoying the holidays do you recommend?
