Hello there, Secret Society!
The new Platform Integration Center was introduced in December 2024 to demystify and streamline the process of integrating Secret Server Cloud with the Delinea Platform, and to help customers realize the full benefits and flexibility of modernization. Since it’s been available to customers on-demand for about four months, it seems high time to share an update about how things are going, the details of one specific customer success story, and what’s next!
Are customers transitioning to the Delinea Platform?
In short, yes!
All in, we have more than 100 Secret Server Cloud customers that have made the transition to using the Delinea Platform – either through the Delinea white-glove service or using the Platform Integration Center – and that’s not counting customers that our business partners have helped with the transition!
The migrations have been going well, and we’ve gotten terrific feedback from customers and business partners about the simplicity of materials in the Platform Integration Center, and how it makes it possible to enable a self-service Platform integration.
Some of you using Secret Server Cloud have expressed hesitation and concern that the transition might be difficult or clunky. I thought you might appreciate learning deeper details about customers’ experiences shifting from Secret Server Cloud to the Delinea Platform. Here’s one of a few we’ll be rolling out over the coming weeks.
Delinea Platform Adoption: A Real-Life Customer Experience
The details below come from a recent interview with a Secret Society member. As many of you will understand, this customer’s executive team asked that we keep their name and identifying details under wraps – but they did give us permission share the story in a blinded way. A huge THANK YOU to our community member (you know who you are) who took the time to share their experience!

About the organization
This North America-based Healthcare organization are long-time users of Secret Server. To give you a feeling for their size, their environment includes approximately:
- 5-10 API workflows
- 6,500 secrets
- 250-350 concurrent users
What inspired the move to the Delinea Platform?
A few things! This organization decided to adopt the Platform so they could support many different use cases and capabilities in an easy and centralized manner, including:
- MFA on Secrets – at the secret level
- Privileged Remote Access for vendors
- AI analytics for user data
Also, integrating with the Platform and using MFA on Secrets was free. Their Senior IT Security leader just had to explain it to his management as a way to future-proof PAM security.
How long did adopting the Delinea Platform take?
This organization made the move to Platform before the Platform Integration Center PIC) was available. They opted to use the Delinea white-glove service to support their Platform adoption.
The Senior IT Security leader did much of the legwork himself, in advance. He was able to go through all the documentation (which has since improved dramatically, with the PIC) and set up the connectors that he needed before reaching out and engaging with the Delinea team. He then had 2 1-hour meetings with the Delinea Product Management team: They got all the infrastructure and firewall rules set up, and then it took about 2 hours to do the move to the Platform.
Special success highlights
The Senior IT Security Leader set up the Platform capabilities in the QA environment and showed it to his management team prior to the migration. He was able to show off the capabilities and make the case that, if the organization wants to stay ahead of the curve and futureproof their identity security, and if they plan to stay with Delinea long term, they need to go to the platform: It’s free to move, plus look at all these features that are accessible!
Additionally, the new approach with the Platform impressed his leadership and compliance team so much that it helped him get the support he needed to invest more in maturing their PAM solution.
Results
This pro said his organization is 100% happy after the Delinea Platform adoption. 👏 🙌🏾
- They love how MFA on Secrets works
- The migration of the existing rotated and managed accounts went off without an issue
- 45 teams are now using Platform Discovery, too
- The new approach impressed the compliance team – which has helped get them the support they needed to mature their PAM
Advice to other customers
Our contact shared that his organization would absolutely do it all over again. For other customers considering it for the first time, he shared the following:
- Get familiar with the Platform adoption process in advance, so you are comfortable when it’s time to shift.
- Note that in the Delinea Platform, API integrations work differently. What they were doing in Secret Server for API integrations no longer worked in the Platform, because of the new and different way users are created there.
- Documentation was challenging at times for him. If you have any trouble with understanding or using the guidance provided, take advantage of office hours or post questions to the community.
Where this organization is headed next:
When ready, they are planning to move forward with Privileged Remote Access for vendors.
