Hello Secret Society!
As we’ve shared prior, in just one month, we will transition to a new customer community experience.
Why the change?
The new site will allow:
- more robust content and communications: articles, operational guidance, event registration, best practice sharing, product roadmap updates
- Improved search and categorization to help you more easily find and create relevant content – this has become especially important as Delinea products and use cases expand.
- Better alignment with accessibility standards
- A cleaner look and feel and reduced bugginess (is it just me?)
- Threaded conversations
- Integration with Delinea’s support portal
What to expect
We are super excited to launch this new experience, but there will be many changes. A few in particular to be aware of:
- Look and feel - The entire look and feel of the site will shift. We will provide live virtual walk-throughs as well as on-demand videos to ensure you are able to easily navigate the new experience.
- Challenges - The “Challenges” style of content will not exist in the new site. We will still invite, encourage, and reward taking various actions, but the way challenges function is specific to the current platform.
- Gamification - For those of you who love gathering points, the new iteration of Secret Society will still incentivize participation and learning through the earning of points, badges, ranks, leaderboards, and more fun things in the works like a community awards program.
- HOWEVER, current gamification status will not transition: badges, level names, and points. If you would like to use your current point totals for the items listed on our rewards page, please do so by Sept. 23
- Rewards - There will still be rewards (because who doesn’t love rewards?) However, the always-on, transactional nature of our current system will change. Rather than a standing list of items available for points, users will receive an invitation to choose rewards when they have reached specific point totals, ranks, or badges. We will provide more detail about how this works upon launch.
- Login - You will still login with your username and a password. However, upon launch you will receive an email asking you to reset your password in order to log into the new experience for the first time. We are assessing the feasibility of SSO logins in the future thanks to your feedback and will keep you apprised!
Important to know
- Because it takes time to move conversations and users to the new site, our community will enter a freeze period between Sept. 9 and Sept. 27. What this means: We will still post and welcome conversations during that time, but content from those weeks, points earned, and new users will not migrate.
Actions to take
- Private messages will not move to the new site. Why? This data is completely private to you and not part of the information we export. Please save any private messages you would like to keep.
- If you have been diligently saving points for items in our rewards portal, redeem your points for a reward before Sept. 23. You will not lose your points in the new platform, nor will you lose the option to earn rewards, but the experience will change.
- If you would like to preview the new experience and provide opinions as we build, direct message me (Brigid Colver). I’d love to gather your input! Feel free to also post questions and considerations here.
