Congrats! 🎉 ✨ 🎊

Delinea’s platform will help you take your security program from foundational to exceptional. The below resources and guidance are meant specifically for those of you who were, until recently, using Secret Server Cloud. If you have a question or concern not answered by the below materials, share it in the comments and we’ll find the right resource for you.

Secret Server Cloud vs Platform: What differences should I expect?

Finding your way around the platform

End user experience

End users logging in to the Platform will have a mostly unchanged experience after login, though there are a few differences to login and the basic UI layout.

Administering and managing the platform

APIs

API usage should now be redirected to leverage the Delinea Platform for authentication, and API tokens generated by Delinea Platform are valid for the existing Secret Server APIs. This means that only the authentication portion of any scripts should be adjusted to use the new methods, but all logic using the token for Secret Server will continue to function and are the intended target for these calls.

User, group and role permission related calls should be transitioned to leverage the Platform services directly. See the following documentation for more information on using Platform APIs.

Managing users, groups, roles, and configuration

These documentation and e-learning resources will help you manage the platform like a pro:

Distributed Engine

If you use any features that rely on the Distributed Engine, it should remain enabled and in place. These features include: remote password changing, heartbeat, discovery, proxying, ticket system integrations, and event subscriptions that execute powershell scripts. User synchronization can be disabled in Secret Server unless there is a Resilient Secrets or Disaster Recovery Synchronization configuration in place. In these scenarios, leave User Synchronization enabled.

Here’s a quick FAQ guide about Connector vs. Distributed engine.
